If you haven’t already heard, the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati has decided they will cancel Homearama this year to focus on Citirama 2010. According to HBA, the descison to discontinue the event this year was mainly due to the contiued difficulty of attracting buyers in the luxery home market. The HBA has sponsored Homearama for 49 years but will now focus on Citirama which centers around urban living, affordable price points and green building – all items that seem to really resonate with todays’ buyers.
Citirama will take place in Northside this year which has diversity and a lot of cultural and eclectic appeal. Seven builders are scheduled to participate, with prices bewteen $205,00o and $282,500 – specifically, Perry Bush Building Group, Greystone Homes, John Hueber Homes, Maple Street Homes, Maronda Homes, M/I Homes of Cincinnati and Potterhill Homes. Three of the show homes have already sold. All are either Energy Star or LEED certified green homes.
